    Yes, you need to have PSEG as your utility provider for gas and electricity.

  • Do I need to live in a certain area to be eligible?

    Your primary residence must be located within a low- or moderate-income census tract, and you must be willing to self-certify that you meet the income qualifications. Call us at 732-494-9200 and we can assist with determining location eligibility.

  • Do I need to meet both income and geography criteria to be eligible?

    You can meet either income OR geography criteria to be eligible.  It is not necessary to meet both.


  • Does my residence need to be a certain type of dwelling?

    Dwelling Types: Single-family homes, townhouses, and attached properties.


    Multi-Family Units: Buildings with 1–8 units are eligible; larger, typical apartment buildings are generally not eligible for residential LMI programs.


    Ownership: Both homeowners and renters can qualify for assistance.


    Excluded Properties: Homes built within the past five years, homes under builder's warranty, and homes in foreclosure are typically ineligible.


    Criteria: Residents must meet income requirements (often under 60% of state median income or based on Federal Poverty Level) or reside in a designated low-income census tract/overburdened community. PSE&G (2026)

    PSE&G and its Trade Allies help consumers access Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP): This program provides energy-efficient upgrades, including heating system improvements, to low-income residents, specifically targeting the elderly, people with disabilities, and children.  PSE&G (2026)


    PSE&G and its Trade Allies help consumers access LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program): Primarily helps with heating bills but offers emergency, no-cost furnace repair or replacement, especially for residents with high-energy burdens.
